Nisargadatta Gita - Message of Nisargadatta Maharaj
with commentary by 'Pradeep Apte'

The knowledge ‘I am’ that appeared in childhood is a cheat as it made you believe the illusion to be true.

See how this knowledge ‘I am’ is a friend and foe as well. As a friend it can show you the way out, but, as a foe, it has also tricked you into believing yourself to be a body. It has cheated you into imagining yourself to be a person born in this world and that you would die one day. This ‘Janus’ like nature of the ‘I am’ has to be understood, it is the lord of the gates with two opposing faces.
